Design for hard, crystalline feed
The separator uses a ring-shaped closed magnetic circuit of high-quality ferrite and magnetic steel. Energising coils of copper tube are water-cooled from inside. A matrix of ridged plates made from magnetically conductive stainless steel creates strong local gradients that capture fine iron from the quartz as it passes.
The machine works on dry material that moves freely between particles. For the highest purity it is often combined with a rare-earth roll separator or run in multiple passes.

Frequently asked questions
Why does quartz need magnetic separation?
Iron and iron-bearing minerals discolour and degrade quartz for glass, ceramics and other high-purity uses. Magnetic separation lowers the iron content.
Can the quartz separator handle wet feed?
No, it is designed for dry feed. Wet high intensity separators are used for slurries.
